Finally finished my Basic Military. Quite proud of myself actually, two whole months of s**t thrown at you for no other reason than because my country says so...

Heh, don't fret yet; there's more where that came from...not to mention I still am conscripted into service for atleast another 22 months. Sucks to be me I guess, but hey...atleast I got my rank. Yeh its no more lowly Recruit now...I'm a fricking Private!

Small boost of confidence now that I contemplate back on how hard it was to achieve it. Its hell as they say it is down there no kidding but I'm sure they're brewing much much more of the same if not worse down my 22 month road.

Army life aside, I think I'm finally grown some balls and prolly.. a new me. Yes army can be all bad but there's certainly some good in it. Like they say; 'Its not what you leave behind, its what you gain ahead', this sentence alone sums up everything about military life I guess. Its a once in a lifetime opportunity to be in the boots of a soldier, I guess I should be more thankful than regretful, afterall this has been a wonderful if not toughening experience for me. For that I thank the SAF for giving me this opportunity.

I know this isn't the end yet but atleast I know why I have to serve national service.
